THE ARTIST
Catarina Hirt Branco is a Porto-based artist whose work explores the individual and their relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them. Her practice reflects on contemporary human experience, perception, and emotional complexity.
Raised in her father’s architectural studio, she developed an early interest in drawing. Her adolescence was largely shaped by competitive tennis in Portugal, which later led her to the United States on a scholarship, where she continued competing before eventually leaving the sport.
While she had always drawn in a more informal and sporadic wa, her artistic pactice became more consistent after moving to Porto in 2018, where drawing became a way of processing experience and understanding her surroundings.
Today, she works across digital drawing, acrylic paint, and LED neon, creating pieces that explore identity, inner states, and the ways individuals navigate connection and meaning in a complex world.
