When you want a new purse but he says you have enough purses

This work plays with the tension between desire and frustration, and how easily emotional intensity can attach itself to something seemingly trivial.

A girl cries and says “you savage” in response to not getting a new bag she wants, a reaction that sits somewhere between sincerity and exaggeration. On the surface, it is about something small, even superficial. But beneath it lies something more familiar: the experience of wanting, being denied, and feeling that refusal as something larger than it is.

The piece reflects how everyday moments can become emotionally amplified, especially in a world shaped by constant exposure to consumption, comparison, and desire.

It is both humorous and uncomfortable. A reminder of how quickly meaning can escalate from the banal to the dramatic.
